Scrolls Made

Nuala MacKensie – AoA

After cranking out a few Baronial awards based off of the Vespasian Psalter, I wanted to change it up a bit.  That style is nice and relatively simple.

For this scroll, I wanted to change it up a bit, so I grabbed inspiration from the Book of Kells.  The overall layout is still from the Psalter, the script and color are from the Kells.  While this wasn’t that much more of a challenge, it was a lot more fun and more work went into it.  I was able to put a little more detail into this and make it a bit more complicated.

Words:

Let it be known that We, Ioannes Emperor and Honig Empress of the East, have found Nuala MacKinsie worthy of recognition. Whether she is charming hearts with her songs or piercing them with her blade, time and time again she has proven her skill with sword and song. Her generosity ends not with melody or grace, also she gives her time to those interested in learning her arts. Thus, on this eighth day of July, Anno Societatis Fifty Two, We are moved to Award unto her Arms to be borne by her alone:

Done by our hand at the Great Northeastern War in Our Province of Malagentia.
