Scrolls Made

Noah Wyck – OSR

Another Cadel scroll, this time I did a format that I’ve been itching to do since I started getting a handle on Cadels. Black scroll with white text.

The words were provided by Christian Woolfe, via the Tyger Signet. The layout that Christian chose was interesting and gave me a chance to play with inserting large letters in to the text. I think I got it to work out alright. I did have to make one small change to the text, as the recipients name wasn’t originally listed.

Cadel inspiration was pulled from my normal source, Mira calligraphiae monumental.

Words:

Behold a lion.
Behold a warrior.
And so we hereby acknowledge the skill and dedication to the sword, to the people, to the kingdom that you bring. That you undertook the exercise of the sword and did learn fencing. That you, unwaivered by pains nor labor did invest in this art and share it with all who wish.
That your skill and art did grow.
Diligence, perfect effort, and honor combined to author conversations in steel. Lively play that speaks well of its creator. Quick to answer offense, ready to dispute injustice, and forthright in all measure.
It is only right and proper that this honour be bestowed this day, A.S. LIX at the Great Northeastern War in Our Province of Malegentia.
By our hands the Mighty, Wise, and Just Magnus Tindal and G Emerson True, rulers of these Eastern Lands we induct Noah Wyck into the Order of the Silver Rapier.
