Scrolls Made

Janna von Guggisberg – Baronial – Rams Horn

This was the first Baronial scroll that I’ve done in six years. When I stepped up as the Baron of Concordia of the snows, I didn’t want to show any favoritism by doing scrolls for some folks but not others. This was the one exception, as by the time it went out I would have already stepped down.

Confused yet? Me too.

Janna was submitted for this award after our last Roses event. Our options were
1) Try to give her the award AS she was getting dressed and ready as Janna was due to be invested the same day as our final court.
2) Work with her husband and their herald to award it to her as a favor to us, during their court.
3) Let her husband figure out how to award her without it looking odd
4) Let it ride for four to six years while she was Baroness of Concordia and hope someone remembers to award it to her after that.
We decided on option 2, which was a little “odd” but worked out really well.

It’s not often I have such joy coming up with words. This time though, I had a blast.

Words:

Let it be known that We, Faolán and Maria, Baron and Baroness of Concordia of the Snows are a-quiver with the efforts of Our well crested Janna von Guggisberg who has targeted to improve of herself and the populace of Our Barony through rounds and (royal)rounds of practice and teaching of the mighty skill of Archery.

Therefore do We, after tipped acclaim of the Companions thereof, loose her to Our Order of the Ram’s Horn.

Done upon this 9th of No(ct)vember, in the Year of the Society LIX(59) at the Concordian Investiture at Bjorn’s Ceilidh.
